New Cham ower

lola44 Jun 20, 2005 01:55 PM

Hi all, Just thought I'd introduce myself. I just got my first veiled cham yesterday at the Reptile Expo in Missassauga, Ont. I've had the cage set up for approx. 2 wks now just to make sure I had everything right. When I put my guy in there he didn't run and hide like I was expecting him to. He just sorta hung around and watched. Kinda weird for us to be behind the animal and have it watching you WITHOUT turning its head to see you. Something we'll have to get used to,,LOL. I fed him some crickets today and the whole family was totally impressed with his aim. My hubby had no idea their tongues were that long (well ok, me neither but at least I had read about it) Also my beardie is very happy to have a new cricket eating buddie in the house because he gets the crickets that are too big for the veiled. (my german shepherd wanted some to but I tried to discourage him from eating the crickets---ew cricket kisses!!) Anyways, jsut a heads up, I'm sure I'll be back on with questions as they pop up. Cheers, Lo
