Odd looking diamondback water i found

reptidude324 Jun 20, 2005 05:35 PM

Today i found a baby diamondback water when i saw it it look like your average diamondback water from the top but when i looked at its belly its was orange colored. Is that normal for a baby?Ive seen man adults and they never had an orange belly.I thought i might hold on to him just incase he was special.I also went to petsmart and got him some guppies and he gobled them up instantly.Ill post a pic soon. Also im sure he has a brighter belly because i cant tell hes about to shed.

It looks like a diet induced color, the fact that snake master has seen adults with that color, supports that idea. Keep him on a diet high in carotene, and maybe he'll keep those colors. I don't know exactly how you would do that, but it should work. Maybe feed him small mice that are feed strictly carrots, or use a color enhancing vitamin powder on his fish, nekton rep makes one high in carotene.
