this question may seem off the wall but i have to ask.
do the conditions of how a snake is kept affect their shedding?
im pretty sure they do here is why i am asking,
when i first got naaza, he was doing well, i got him on march 13. on march 29 he quit eating, did not eat again til may 3rd, he shed on april 29.
since then it has been like clock work he sheds some where around the end of every month, he refuses to eat about 3 to 4 days before, then after the shed he will eat again about 2 to 3 days later.
the shop where i got him had about 4 small corns in a medium sized critter keeper, they kept saying the snakes wouldnt eat... so i waited a week before i got him, then the next week after doing more research and having my setup ready i went back and chose the snake i wanted, naaza. his first month was rough with the shedding, but now it has gotten to where when its time for him to shed it only last a short time, i keep check on temps and humidity and when i know its getting close i raise the humidity a bit.
i went back to the shop to look around they still have one snake that was there in the keeper with naaza, the snake doesnt look like he has grown much compared to naaza, right now naaza is 20 inches in length, that snake looked to be about 15 to 16 inches.
i have decided i dont think i will go back to that shop, they specialize in birds, and you can really tell, the birds are well kept compared to the reptiles.
