EGGIES!!

Califia Jun 21, 2005 08:54 AM

Mrs. Garbage (so named because that's where Mom first saw her) has been laying eggs aroun 1 or 2 a day. Is that normal for a hognose?
I've heard they can lay them all at once..but one at a time?
They seem healthy, and I've followed advice from previous questions on here. I'm just curious. I can't wait to see them hatch.
Heeeeheeeee I'm so excited.
I'll post a picture if I can..

Thank you!
I'm hoping they all hatch. so far I've had pretty good luck with my eggies...but most of them were found outside..and were lizard.
I'm hoping my luck stays good with these!!

Where do you find the eggs?? The reason I ask is that the female I rescued probably laid her eggs right before I got her. The flowerbed she was found in is about to have a fence cut through it, and I would hate for there to be eggs that would get destroyed. Do wild hogs bury eggs like turtles?? And can the eggs be turned or do they have to be kept in the same position like alligators?? I can't very well dig up my sisters entire flowerbed.....family peace and all Any info would be great!

as best I know they bury them. I'm not sure. I always find the lizard eggs buried, and most reptile eggs must be kept moist..so I'm pretty sure they'd be buried. If I were you I'd be there rescuing eggs!!!
I might be giving a few to good homes. I'm not shipping though, not after I hatch/raise them. I'd get too attached to risk unnecessary death.
lol
good luck!!
