Hognose location in Texas?

silver_arctic1 Jun 21, 2005 01:30 PM

I was wondering where is a good location in Central Texas to find hognoses? I've found easterns in Houston, but I haven't seen or heard of any in Austin. How far west or north do I have to go to find the westerns? Thanks in advance!

Westerns are pretty uncommon until you get up into the lower plains and grasslands about 200 miles north and NW of Austin.

Mexican Hogs can be found not too far south of San Antonio, but they aren't really abundant anywhere.
