getting another monitor???

ackie-attack Jun 21, 2005 02:43 PM

hey all, i currently own a red ackie, and im thinking about getting another monitor but im not sure exactly what. i already have a cage. its 4' long by 2' deepwide by 2' tall.and im not sure what monitor could live in that when its full grown. ive been looking at blue spotted timors and argus but im not sure.so i was wondering what every one thought would be a good monitor for this space.

thanks in advance for all replys.

You want my opinion? Get more ackies or build a bigger cage.
An argus would be miserable in that small of a cage.
Now I have a question.
How does a lizard move around in a 2 foot tall cage with 18 to 24 inches of substrate?

well id like another ackie, yes. but id prefer to have more than one species of monitor...thats why i want somthing different.and i guess you have a good point...how does a lizard move around in a 2 foot cage with 18 to 24 inches of substrate...it doesnt...but i dont have that much in there...and when the time comes that i need that much ill have a bigger cage...so its nothing to worry about...anyways i just want to know what monitors are good and what to stay away from so i dont end up with a nasty lizard that i can never get out of the cage...so...if anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate them.

Buying monitors ia a crap shoot.
You might get one that has calm parents and siblings but you might end up with the unhandlable beast.
If you want something "different"for that cage, search for drawfs. I hear kimberlies are nice and storrs are fun to watch.
