hi - i found your website and also a few entries you left on kingsnake.com and figured you would be best to ask a few questions about my dumeril to. I had Peaches and Otis together in the end of September of 2004. I saw them "together" and removed Otis a week later. I know it's coming closer to Peaches due date and have noticed some odd activity. First and most important... she has small amounts of blood in her urates. But she leaves LARGE puddles of clear urine with the urates. I've seen her consume large amounts of water at times. These blood stains happen almost every other day. She's had good bowel movements where everything has appeared healthy and nothing out of the ordinary. I've cut her food supply down so she hasn't "pooed" much since being pregnant but each one is healthy. She's in a large neodesha (i think that's how you spell it) cage and prefers to lay on the cool end of her cage refusing the hide box on the warm end. Today she's been very hyper, cruising around, stretching out and it seems as if she wants out because she keeps stretching upward to the ceiling. I've been wanting to take her to the vet to get this blood thing checked out but the vet is kinda far and i don't, by any means, want to stress her out with the travel. My vet won't do any kind of tests without seeing her. I HAD to take her out of her cage 2 weeks ago to clean and she was very protective of her hind end and of her cage. Since she pooed (2 weeks ago), she has become darker in color. She did a full shed about 3 weeks ago and looks like she may be in shed again, but like I said, has looked this way for 2 weeks. I've asked a few breeders and get different answers each time on why she's peeing blood and was wondering if you had any suggestions or ever experienced this. As far as I know, she is almost 5 years old, about 6 1/2 ft long and has never been bred before. This is my first time breeding boas so I need all the help I can get. Like I said, I've asked many experienced people and have done a lot of research and I can't get ends to meet here. Other than this mess, she is very healthy, still has an appetite, has turned down food only a few times, has good weight on her (although today she appears thinner) and is frustrating the hell out of me. Please help me.
Thanks so much
Sara
