How large of a cage do you need for a California King snake?

That depends on the size/age of the snake. Kings don't require any significant sized tank. A general rule of thumb
woul be a tank around the size of the length of the snake. That's not to say you can't go bigger. If you do, just make sure there is plenty of hiding places as this will help it take "comfort".
