My 05/06' starting line up....

gotboids18 Jun 21, 2005 08:59 PM

A few of them are ready to go now, others are a ways off... Either way, I'm really excited and anticipating this coming season.. Here they are!!!!

02' Farmed abberant colombian from Gray..

7' normal male, he's my first boa, and I'll never get rid of him, he's my baby... Tame as a puppy!

04' Male Harlequin from Gray.. He's not quite there, but I'm hoping for late in the season...

03' Male Davey Pastel... He is one of my favorite snakes, he has light and dark modes, but when I wake up to a light mode, I am blown away EVERY time.. Can't wait to see what he produces..

03' Male DH Sunglow poss het anery.. I just got this boy from Greg Riso, I believe it's a littermate to the snake that just proved triple het.. I've got my fingers crossed, I'm putting him with a DH snow female, and hoping for the best... He's a nasty SOB... Makes for a good shot though..

04' Male Motley... Purchased him from Jack Briggs, he's great.. Eats like a monster and is growing like a weed!!!

I've got a few more on my list for the year, and I'll post some pix as soon as they come in... Thanks for looking!!

LOL, yep, that's a pose I remember all to well from the nasty guy. He was produced from the same parents as the other animal that proved to be triple het but is one year younger. I told you his temperament sucked. Good thing he's not venemous! Very nice line up you've got there. I wish you good luck with them.

Hey Gray, how's it going?? Congrats on a great year!! I'm not so sure I'm gonna try her this coming season, how did she grow for you?? For the first few months I was feeding her every week, I got her up to mediums because she was gaining sooo much girth.. And then I realized she was just getting thick, so I switched to bi weekly and a smaller meal.. I remember reading on your site that she was 3'8", she's only grown 4" since I've picked her up, only at 4' now... She'll be 3yrs old by the end of the year, and I've been told if she has a decent growth in length it would be ok to try her.. I'm so anxious to see what she pops out, but I'm definitely going to wait til she's 4yrs if she doesn't have a growth spurt.. Do you think she could just be genetically small, and still be sexually mature by this season?? Thanks, Cya Later

.....personally, I would wait. It sounds very similar to my EBV red group females. I was so anxious to breed them but at age 3 (last Fall) they were in the 4.5 foot range with good girth. I never seriously considered breeding them. Now they are in great shape for this Fall even though they still are not large females. It's tough to be patient but the animals will more likely reward you with healthy litters.

That naughty one should make a nice breeder, does he settle down once you handle him or is he just plain anti-social? I like his coloring.
