Care on Collared Lizards.

KevinsReptiles Jul 14, 2003 12:58 PM

I have a few questions about collared lizards.

1.How many can fit in a 15 gallon enclosure (2x1x1)?
2.What is a good Canadian price for one of them?
3.Does it have to be sand as a substrate?
4.Would they like a small pond?
5.Will they drink from a water dish or do they have to be misted?
6.Do grow lights for plants give of UV rays?

Thanks,Keviiiiiiiiiiin

A pair at the most-i would try to go larger

2.What is a good Canadian price for one of them?
don't know i live in scotland.

3.Does it have to be sand as a substrate?
not really the usual convenience stuff like paper can be used,i use crushed coral myself

4.Would they like a small pond?
no,a pond will create too much humidity-they come from a semi arid enviroment.
5.Will they drink from a water dish or do they have to be misted?
some will drink readily from a water dish and some like to lap up from a rock or leave
hope this helps you
6.Do grow lights for plants give of UV rays?
