Size question

dmacl Jun 21, 2005 10:35 PM

I just received a pair of het albinos that were supposed to have been born last May, so they are 13 months old or so. The seller did say that they had gone off feed over the winter, but had started eating again once it warmed up. I weighed them last night and they are sitting at ~150 grams. Is this really possible? I know that the normal I got that was born last May didn't eat for 3 months this winter and is at 566 grams as of last night. Thats 400 grams difference. Any opinions on how likely this is?

for a 13 month old ball to only be 150#'s does not seem right - even with being off feed for winter. many corp. sells dont even sell an newborn until they are at least 100-150 lbs. i guess i would have questioned weight before i bought and the first 2 things that would come to my mind is that they are 2005 or they are problem feeders. i would not have purchased knowing they were that small. sorry.

That seems awfully small for a year old snake. Im guessing the snake would/should have eaten just fine for atleast a couple months before it might have gone off feed. At that point, it would have atleast gotten that big and most likely bigger, and then it would have put on size once it warmed up. Something is definitely fishy, and I would even start to question the validity of them being hets. Although thats the worst case scenario. I would definitely do some asking questions to the seller and see what their comments are.
