50/50 Desert California Kingsnake

Eldjinn Jun 22, 2005 06:24 AM

I am looking for a Female 50/50 Desert California Kingsnake (Lampropeltis getula californiae).
If you have a nice one for sale I would appreciate a mesage with the relevant information and costs including shipping to Birmingham UK.
There are two points. I want a 50/50 Desert California Kingsnake as a pet and a Female would make my beautiful, handsome, male very happy. Put a smile on his face ...
Do you get snake cigarettes and a beer, you know for the morning after the night before?
Here is a picture of him, his name is King George (Not that he cares, but he knows he is King of his domain as he wanders about without taking avoiding action, we have to watch where we step).

King George is in breeding mode and was not eating very much. I searched for months and found him a Female just to make him happy. She openend her mouth and very gently mouthed him midway along his length and started jerking. That got his interest and she starts wriggling her tail vigourously and throwing him off her with coils and it is clear even to me she wont let him have his evil way with her.
Do both Male and Female do this jerking and mouthing courtship thing or is that restricted to males only? Because if it is only the males then I know why they are not you know ... making whopee.
Because I have been sold another male!
Errr .. King George is definately Male for two reasons. One he has bred before and two I have seen his pink tickle tackle extruded as he was excited and in HoT pursuit of this snake sold to me as a female.
Anyway I want a 50/50 Desert California Kingsnake and may as well fulfil my want with his need.

A few weeks ago I lost my little Pueblan Milksnake (Lampropeltis triangulum campbelli). We searched for ages without success and I had a brainwave. I got King George and set him down, less than 30 seconds later, there was one Milksnake running like Hell with King Geroge in HoT pursuit.
My goodness that Kingsnake can move when he has the right incentive he overtook that little Pueblan Milksnake in less than six feet and come back round, his tail in the air vibrating with excitement.
I think King George had something in mind, and eating the little guy was not it!
