Climbing all over cage...

trinacliff Jul 14, 2003 01:23 PM

Is it normal for Jackson's to climb all over the screen of an enclosure? Top, sides, bottom...whatever...there's a good sized ficus in there, then vines and branches everywhere...he seems to climb on the screen more than his vines...lately at least. He's actually crawling across the bottom right now as I type this. What's up with that? He's eating well, drinking well, and otherwise acting normal. Just wondering.
Thanks!
Kristen

What size is the cage? Are the temps right? Maybe there is something in there or outside his cage that is freaking him out. I am just naming things I would look for.

It's quite normal for your Jackson to search the confines of his cage. he might be hunting, try throwing a cricket in and let him chace after it. If this is a new cage for him, it might take awhile for him to settle down. Check out his color. This is the easiest way to see if he is stressed. Any dark coloration, or lighter than normal coloration will be your first warning that something is bothering him!
