Crested just wont eat... :S?

jade_e_bear Jun 22, 2005 11:01 AM

so after a week straight of crapping on me every time i picked it up my gecko has stopped eating.. Theres 5 crickets in with him/her that have been there for 3 days and i put fresh baby food mix and cresty food mix in every night as well. I know they dont have to eat every day but it had been about 3 or 4 days. I've noticed it slipping a bit when i handle it also. Could it be shedding therefore not eating? I keep the humidity at a 50-80% range and theres rough surfaces for it to rub against... boowaa i donno.

My female crested gecko recently got over a calcium def. problem. It was easy to treat as I caught it early. She stopped eating and her balance was off and she would be wobbley. Itook her to the vet and they agreed it to be cal. def. I would hold the gecko every day and use a spoon and place baby food mixed with calcium on its nose and have it lick it off the edges of its mouth. After a week or so my gecko was fine and back to eating dusted crickets. Id bet cal. Def.
