Picky eaters

terrapene Jun 22, 2005 12:18 PM

I have several eastern box turtles in a large outdoor habitat, and recently gave them some mixed vegetables (thawed, from frozen). Two of my females ate everything except the green beans, left conspicuously. Has anyone else seen this particular selectivity with their turtles?

Yes, mine have eaten their way around green beans. Maybe they don't like legumes in general.

Oh yeah. Mine doesn't like fruit at all and will leave it whenever I try to give him some. The other day I mixed some turnip greens with his pellets and found a plate with greens scattered all around. He will also pick out mealworms and leave them This is why he got named Morris.... after Morris the finicky cat in the 9-Lives commercials.
