Heres a big male Gopher I rescued last week. It was before 9am and I was on my way to work, and on the shoulder there was a pair of gophers breeding. The car in the lane next to me nailed them. I pulled over and the female was smahsed dead, but this guy was fine..?,no lumps or bumps either-(well he had a few broken bones but you could tell they were previous from a long time ago). I took him to work with me and gave him water. Then let him go after work-(about 5 miles from where he was,but well off the road). I was amazed he was ok. There were 2 guys across the street putting up a fence, and they were screaming at me in spanish,I think they thought they were rattlers and I was a crazy gringo trying to get bit-(the gopher was striking like crazy at me). I was glad to save this guy though, enjoy the pic,

I hope you're right about him not being injured, but I have seen quite a few snakes that have been hit with no apparent injury, only to hemorrage a week or 2 later and die. If he was lucky, only his head and neck were run over. If heart and lower body areas are hit, it could take a while for him to die. I hope he makes it. I have a cornsnake here that was hit about 3 weeks ago and it is still alive, but will not feed, only time will tell......or heal.

Hi,
Yeah, i was aware of that. But he was still very strong all through the day.And when i sat him down,he cocked up like that in the photo and then just took off,I just let him. But still yoru right, there could be something wrong,i hope not though. 2 years ago i saw a Lyre Snake in a place I had never seen them or knew about them being there before-(2 days after a fire) and took it home for the night to photograph the next day,and in the morning it was dead.I was rubbing along its body and felt a place where the bones were broken and it was puffy feeling, like air was stored in it.
