Besides bathing, how can I help Athena shed?

therebeldragon Jun 22, 2005 04:02 PM

Her tail and legs and feet shed, even half her belly. But the rest has been there unshed for about 2 1/2 weeks after the other stuff shed off! Grrr.... It's annyoing. Poor girl

I don't think bathing helps them shed, the skin that will be shed needs to dry out. My adults sometimes shed skin on their legs and tail without their back shedding.

I don't know what kind of lighting you're using, but since I got the Powersun by zoomed, mercury vapor bulb, mine have been shedding better, more complete shedding and more frequently. I think they like the bath, though, while shedding. I've seen them scratch their heads with the back foot while in the water... I think it feels good to them.
