bytheshore1 Jun 22, 2005 07:51 PM

I purchased this adult male south florida kingsnake as an albino but he has black eyes. nice light tan color with some lavender highlights. i have seen a lavender on isis website that is simialar. i also bought a het female at the same time. they had babies and i got 1 that looks like the dad. black eyes again. does anybody know if this is a hypo or lavender or what?

thanks,

Are you sure you're see'n black and not ruby red?

If you see black eyes i'd say hypo, but if they are ruby red then you got yourself a nice lavender...

honestly it's hard to tell from that pic

a Lemke line lavender albino. It's not a hypo for sure.

thanks alot. that is what i was told they were. the male is an awesome snake. this was the females first clutch. only 7 good eggs and they hatched early in the incubator. 1 albino and 2 hets ate the others before i could get to them. this is one of those times that i need to learn from my mistakes. 3 fat snakes though. damsel fattened right back up and is looking gravid again with second clutch. thanks for the replies, tim
