It's a colubrid, a member of the Oligodon species (over 50 known), specifically Oligodon formosanus which ranges in China. They range from Russia to China to Southeast asia and are nocturnal ground snakes that eat lizards and eggs, but this one seems only interested in eggs. They have enlarged rear teeth used to slice open eggs. It was calm for a few days when I received it but now it rears up ready to strike, so I am very careful with it. I saw a TV show where some guy was easily bitten by these large rear teeth.
