Chris Allen?

banana Jun 22, 2005 09:36 PM

This probably shows my ignorance to knowing all your names or knowing everything there is about dragons, but I keep seeing the name Chris Allen pop up everywhere, especially with red dragons, and I assume this is a person...? Do they have a website? Are they on this forum? Sorry if I sound dumb, but I'd just like to know for sure.

Chris Allen was a breeder who introduced some killer reds and oranges into the bd community. He used to be Jersey Dragons. He no longer breeds and sold his stock to Sunshine Dragons. I have no idea why he got out of dragons...as I didn't know him personally and I didn't have a computer for the longest time...so I missed it. The guy practically was/is a living legend.

As the other poster said, Chris Allen is a breeder that produced some beautiful and extremely healthy sized bearded dragons a few years ago.

A really caring and all round good person, Chris paid good attention to the dragons he bought, researching their backgrounds and breeding lines to get quality non inbreed stock and then raised them right.

His dragons "Flame and Scar" are 2 of the popular ones that produced not only beautiful red or orange babies, but dragons that grew to really nice sizes of 500-800 grams, 20-25 inches and very hearty/healthy dragons.

Sparing no expense on raising them and being careful with bloodlines really paid off and it shows in dragons that he produced for only a few years, so there are not that many of them available.

Chris stopped breeding and raising bearded dragons as he wanted to spend more time on other projects. A loss for the dragon industry, but he certainly left a positive impact on it.

Wow, that's incredible that he put so much effort into it. When I get older and move out I want to be a dragon breeder myself (if it's still as popular). Man, I can't believe all that work he put into them. Thanks for your posts, I appreciate all the information.
