I was just thinking and it hit me that candycanes are linebred amels. if I were to breed a normal looking amel female to a caramel male and then breed the same male to a candycane amel...... would the offspring be the same? I know they would all be het butter but would both clutches look the same? would the colors from the candy cane be cleaner? Are saddle patterns genetic or random? Thanks just thinking!

Amel x caramel would give you all normal het butters. Normal het butter x amel (candycane) would give you (with equal chance): normal het amel, normal het butter, amel, amel het caramel. Are you asking if all the amels would look like the candycane? Even within candycane clutches there are variations and not all end up being "candycane" but rather just amels. Hope I helped some.
