If it's newly hatched, it may just be totally exhausted from the effort to get out of the egg. Or, it may just be a weak hatchling that may not survive. Sometimes these things happen. A vet check may not be any help, especially if its only a day or two out of the egg. You could put it in a small tank by itself with little to no exposed sides to the outside world (ie cover all sides with dark paper except the top). It may recover in a day or two, or quietly pass away. When so young there isn't alot that can be done, other than keeping them quiet, with fresh water available and no stress.

Hi there, I have had Baby beardies like that before...some have made it and some have not...A good thing to try is get a small dish like a sandwhich container, line the bottom with a paper towel and add about a half and inch of luke warm water to the dish. Some of the towel should be close to the surface if not floating and the other end of the paper towel completely submerged. Place the baby in the conatiner to soak for about ten minutes, put the container in a quiet area with minimal noise/ any other distractions. After he has soaked a while place him in a small tank like a 10 gallon for him to rest a few hours all by himself, where he has full access to a good basking spot (dont force him to bask though). In several hours try getting him to eat a little bit of baby food such as (carrot baby food). This is best done by placeing a small drop of it on the tip of his nose. Try doing this for about 4-5 days and then see if you can get him to eat some 1/4" crickets. In the past this process has worked for me so I hope you will take the time to try it if its not too late already. Good luck! -Lance
