Can anybody tell me about egg laying in the wild for hogs?? It is possible that my WC rescued female layed eggs right before she was found in my brother in laws flower bed. The bed is approx. 300 sq ft and due to have a fence put right through it next week. I am trying to determine how best to search for eggs to rescue, before they are destroyed. It is a lot of area to cover.....and only a week to do it. Any info would be helpful, otherwise I will be searching blind...thanks

This certainly can be a difficult task. I have not come across too much information on the oviposition sites in the literature. I'm sure others will chime in, but look for what makes sense, you need an area with relatively loose soil, holds moisture, and gets some sun a portion of the day to keep it warm. All will not be lost even if they are dug up. Turtles in particular seem to survive major disturbances in their nests just fine.
