How about PARIS TEXAS with Harry Dean Stanton. 20 or more min. at the very beginning was shot at Terlingua but actually around Terlingua Ranch and up on 118 with a smudge shot in Alpine and Marathon then the whole plot moves to California. Then we have a movie of either Anglo/Spanish or Anglo/Mexican shot on location of the Pecos Overlook with Alfred Molina and I saw it once but can't tell you the name. The first and original " Hitcher " was filmed with parts of US 90 and Dryden. Next Joe should remember Pancho's in Study Butte and the regaling of the proprietor showing us pics of the actors and some of the crew of Barbarosa and telling us that they ate there frequently during filming. Next is the classic and original " The Get-Away" with Steve McQeen and Ali McGraw. The bank robbery was suppose to take place and be filmed in Alpine but the great director of implementing slow filming of specific scenes ( also he directed the Long Riders ), Walter Hill moved the whole plot and subject to around Laredo due to his wanting something a little more seedy in looks of a small township closer by and the advantage of being able to cross the border for some shots.
