One of my snakes, the smallest, is a bit of a picky eater *ahem*...it seems she like to be hand fed freshly killed prey. I was told from the people I bought her from that she only eats live mice, but when i try to feed her, she refuses anything. I have even dumped chicken broth over one poor unsuspecting rodent. *L*

anyway, I decided to try fresh killed (I also decided thumping mice is not my favorite job..heh)

still no luck....she just ignored it as if it was not there...

so picture a mom playing airplane to get a six month old to eat strained peas...

and just as with my kids, it worked (no, not the airplane bit ...but putting the mouse to her nose....i know what you were thinking..lol)...she takes it without a second thought

she has been eating this way the past three times I have fed her...and took TWO mice today this way

has anyone had this kind of thing happen? and if so has your snake learned to eat on it's own?

Although I don't mind feeding her this way...at least she'll eat...i really want her to know how to do it on her own....

btw, we are keeping the chicken mouse as a pet...*L*...he's been through enough

thanks for any help you can provide...thanks for reading!

My male does the same thing. We just got him to go from live to thawed frozen. But I figure as lond as he is eating, I have no problem feeding him like that. And actually, I hand feed both my snakes.

Hope this helped.
