I know Iguana's can't process protein, and that feeding it to them will cause kidney problems. However, a local pet shop employee told me today that feeding BD's a lot of meal worms, crickets, super worms, etc. . . also causes kidney problems.
Because BD’s are omnivorous, I was surprised to hear him say this. . . and don’t know whether I totally believe him (my vet has never mentioned it). Can anyone out there provide input.
The reason it came up in the first place is because my BD has been eating a LOT more worms/crik’s than greens & veggies. He’s offered greens and veggies but just likes the worms more. . . to the point where he’d ALMOST rather go hungry, and wait for worms, than eat the greens.
So what do you all think about this?
