Is there a special procedure or technique to consider when periodically determining growth rate in snakes (weight and length)?
Like how often to measure and weight the animal.

Not really. I weigh my snakes monthly and measure them (using Serpwidget's Snake Measurer program) twice a year or so.

For babies, you could measure more often, but adults don't change much.
