I've had her a week and she's eaten 3 times.

Its never really a good idea to take pics of your snake in a water dish with dirt build-up caked on the sides of it, or in any substandard conditions...

Digital_reptiles Jun 24, 2005 08:23 PM

You probably dont want to feed it 3 times a week, or you wont have it for very long...

perhaps you should worry about your own postings and not stick your nose in and criticize others...

You mean like to tell other people to mind their own business? Oh beautiful hypocrocy...

Besides, I was just giveing him a little advice on how to better show his "photogenic" boa. Hey, and maybe he might make an effort to up his keeping practices. I think we all can agree that its not a great idea to keep water in that condition.

chiplatham Jun 24, 2005 11:24 PM

and i was giving you a little advice...fair enough. how do you know the pic wasn't taken by the breeder before the animal was sold? or that the breeder fed the snake 3 times before he sold the animal?

i just don't think it is polite to assume...and to pass judgement based on assumptions.

Maybe the breeder fed it 3 times before he got it but with the wording it would seem it was fed 3x since it was recived. As far as the breeder takeing that pic i certinly hope thats not the case. Most breeders keep their stock in better conditions than that, and much less wouldnt show horrid water bowls to their customers. Besides, whos really going to buy that snake from those conditions?

oh well. Much of husbantry is opinion anyways right? after all they drink out of mud puddles in the wild right? ill shut my mouth. Thank you for correcting me.

I love how my keeping practices and feeding are questioned with a quick sentence and one picture.

One hopper every 3-4 days is too much.

The water bowl is old but has been scrubbed thouroughly. It did have some bedding in it. I was pulling her out to clean the tank and feed her (maybe I shouldn't feed her anymore).

Thanks for the back up Chip
