Houston...he's still with us and is doing fine.

momto6 Jun 24, 2005 10:42 PM

He does still have some spots on his underside but they are "drying" up. His skin was always thin looking on those spots but it finally looks like it's getting thicker. I don't have time to take and post a picture. Too much going on. Maybe next week I'll be able to do picture.

Never made it to a vet. I would have to drive 5 hours to the nearest vet that treats reptiles and well...with 6 kids, a dog, 3 chickens, a lizard, hampster and several fish...I just don't have the time.

He does seem to be better. He's eating plenty. I took him outside for some real sun and he didn't move. I went to run a chicken out of my shed and turned around to see another chicken staring at him. He didn't move so I guess the chicken didn't know what to think. The dog decided to go introduce herself. When Houston moved, she jumped and when she jumped Houston ran...he ran on his hind legs under the house. It took us at least an hour to get him out of there but it sure was neat to see him run across the yard on his hind legs.

Today his colors were the prettiest dark blue/green that I have ever seen on him.

Anyway, just wanted to give everyone an update. Sorry, I don't have anything to report on what that was under his belly. We never did add anymore substrate. We are still using paper towels and changing them often.

He sure loves grasshoppers...Where can I buy some of those. He wakes up from a sound sleep to catch and eat a grasshopper.

well as long as houston seems to be doing ok, then that is all i care about. i don't have to know what was on his tummy i am glad he is well and the sun is showing his pretty colors. watching them run bipedal is fun, even though it isn't for them ha ha

depending on the circumstances.

Annabella chooses to run bipedal on long stretches of carpet. She starts off slowly than gets up on her hind legs than jumps with her arms in the air like runner winning first place.

Ezra only runs bipedal on the grassy lawn. I figure it gives him a better view and is easier than trying to walk through that stuff.

Cory unfortunately quit running bipedal when he decided humans are not that scary. Along with that he quit acting big and tail whipping me.

If you are interested in getting crickets try any pet store even petco or petsmart. If you don't have access to any pet shops you can order online but most of them you have to order in bulk, 500 or more. I do know of one place on-line you can get 100 at a time I believe it's herpfood.com you can get 100 crickets for $6.00. I order off of american cricket ranch but I get 500 at a time to feed all my litte guys. Keep feeding him and I am glad to hear he's doing better.

Nice to hear the good news! Thanks for the update, we love it when they get well

As far as buying grasshoppers, geesh wish I knew of someone who sold them I also would invest in some. But unfortunity no one seems to sell them (as far as I know).

Just crickets, and lots of different wormy critters,

Best wishes with Houstin
