New Setup - Freedom Breeders and RhinoRacks

topnotchboas Jun 24, 2005 10:58 PM

Used my Dad's camera for these (old, low end). I will be getting a new cam next week or the week after, watch for significantly upgraded pics then. I will also probably go outside tomorrow and get some better shots. I'm also using a low end picture resizing program... uhg.

But for now, heres my new setup.

Youd be surprised at what one can pack into a small room. This room is only 10 x 6 or so. Its a room inbetween two rooms. The small size makes it easy to keep heated at least. There's a stack of 6, 4 foot freedom breeders in there along side a stack of three ball room rhinoracks. I couldnt really get a straight on shot because the room is too small.

Environment controls: Humidifier (set on a timer) and Oil-Filled Heater (set on a ranco thermostat)

A few shots of my new 04 Sunglow Possible Het Stripe, the in cage shots were taken with flash ... out of cage shots no flash:

99 Albino Female - This girl is a MONSTER! 7ft and 30 pounds. Seems to be a gentle giant so far though ... very calm.

I tried to put my hand in the shot for a size reference but I think because my hand was closest to the lens... it made it appear bigger. I'll use a coke can or something next time.

This is the new 1999 Normal Female I got from Gray @ allboas. Very nice and clean/light normal ... killer tail.

This is a bad shot of the male high orange line Hypo Triple het (Het Anery / Het Albino) ... we need to get a snow or sunglow het anery for him soon ... he should make some nice sunglows with an 03 albino het stripe or the big 99 albino regardless though ... Still, cant wait for those snowglows (eventually!). I'll get some better shots of him tomorrow outside so you can really see his color.

So thats the new setup ... I should be getting a shipment from Peter Kahl next tuesday (03 Albino Het Stripe Female, 02 Arabesque Het Albino / Het Stripe Female, 04 Jungle Male, 04 Albino Possible Het Stripe Male).

Great looking setup, and good luck with the future breedings.

Wow Ryan, you are REALLY goin nutts... Awesome setup you have there... I just closed on my house yesterday and I have a whole basement I get to setup as my snake room.. I'm gonna have to do something about the climate though, it's a bit chilly.. You've got quite an animal stock over there, unbelievable.... Beautiful snakes, good luck with them..
See you around.

Regarding heaters - Ive tried 3 or 4 different kinds and keep going back to the oil filled. I havent experimented with heating a whole basement though.

But we have some shelving on the other side of the room that we will be taking out to expand later.

Thanks for the compliments
