This is from breeding a Poss Het SK Axanthic to a normal female. Talk about taking the long way. Hatchling Ball Pythons are just too much fun.

Nice hatchlings, especially the bright one that looks like it might be a granite. Yes, your going about this the long way but look at how many breeders hit with 50% hets. 50% het females are a great way to produce a higher end morph for a much smaller investment. When I can buy 3 or 4 or more 50% het females for the price of 1 female that is 100% het, I jump on the deal. If more than one hits, I'm way ahead. If none hit, I still have adult females that are proven breeders and look at the value of those in todays market. Besides, there is nothing stopping you from picking up a 100% het male and breeding back to all the females. Lone males can be obtained real cheap, expecially when you have time on your side to wait for the right deal.
