if i could start over again i would definately start with mossies. they are a medium size and seem to the the hardiest of the ones i've kept ( lined, satanic, and mossy) they need about 1/3 the water the lineatus need it seems like and tend to stay much more robust.
i kept a trio in a 30 gallon tall for about a year with no problems. the larger the better typically with any uroplatus species ( except for ebenaui, and phantasticus).i currently keep mine in a cage that is about 2'x2'x4' and they seem to be doing very well for me in there. this species is also fairly easy to come by and a medium price. most keepers will probably tell you that corkbarks are the hardiest of the uroplatus species, and many people have very good luck with henkeli as well. ( both are becoming more expensive and harder to find though)
be sure to do your research, build a natural set-up, and try to meet all of their needs as best you can before you purchase any and i'm sure you'll do fine with whatever you choose.

I would have to agree with the above. Mossies, Uroplatus Sikorae are great to start with. They are easy to maintain if you start off with the right knowledge and setup. Make sure you test your setup before you get them, like how often you will need to spray to maintain the right humidity and what not. The only think is that sikorae seem to be one of the hardest species to breed, I don't hear of much success with them. I would stay away from the smaller species like ebanaui and phantasticus, they seem to fall rather quickly when things start going wrong. Definately buy captive bred if you can find them. Here is a care sheet for mossies.

Good luck and don't be afraid to ask any questions here, people on this forum are great for helping out others.

I actually would recommend ebanaui over sikorae. They don't require much space, are super easy to keep and they breed like cresteds (but only one clutch a month). I keep both sikorae and ebanaui so I come from experience on this.

Most important is that they will need 2-3 sides of their cage covered with cork bark, lots of twig like branches and dense vine like foliage. Other than that, temperature and humidity should be kept identical to a crested gecko. Feeding, they seem to prefer crickets and roaches. None of mine have been interested in baby food. I dust their prey at every feeding with Tri-cal calcium supplement.

I actually prefer ebanaui out of most of the uroplatus geckos to be honest. I've got a bunch of uroplatus but for some reason these little buggers seem to just pull me in.

Cheers
Jason
