and first, I'd like to say thank you to Tom for giving me the opportunity to be one of the first to see this incredible animal in person. Tom is a very humble person and still hasn't realized the impact that this new morph has on the Mojave and the Ball Python market in general. When I saw him yesterday I took a group of our animals that he hadn't seen (in person) with me and he loved it, and when I told him that I would trade everything I brought with me for the "Crystal Ball" I think the gravity of his new Ball sunk in. (Disclaimer: Before someone thinks that I was trying to trade him, I wasn't because IMHO he should never trade or sell the "Crystal Ball" until he works out all the genetics with his breeders.) Back to the "Crystal Ball". I know there are many gorgeous new Balls that have hatched and will be hatching this year and forever that will amaze us all, but this animal has to be the most beautiful ones I've ever seen. The image that Tom posted of it is very good, but when you hold it in your hand you can see so much more. There is this crystal clear body with a very light cream colored pattern under what appears to be a layer of Yellow, and around the pattern there are outlines of lavender that look like little neon lights glowing. The belly is white, and the eyes are blue, lighter on the top half and darker on the bottom. I can't wait for everyone to be able to see it in person, and that means Tom has to do some shows.

So it wasn't enough that I got to see the "Crystal Ball" he’s also hatched out some gorgeous Mojaves and awesome fat little normals so far this year, but I had the privilege of seeing the "Special Mojave". You will see images of it below (that Tom allowed me to post) and I can tell you that we've hatched numerous Mojaves and it looks so much different than any Mojave I've ever seen that it could be another new morph from the "Crystal" clutch. The difference that I saw is the color on the aliens it’s Orange not the normal khaki, gray or greenish colors that most have, and some pattern variations. It will be interesting to watch it grow and Tom will have to keep us all posted on its progress.

Well, you may be wondering why I keep saying it and haven't mentioned the mom? "It" refers to the fact that Tom can disclose the sex of all the animals when he wants to, and I told Tom that I didn't want to see the mom and that’s just as well because she's somewhere else taking a break from all this. I'm sure in time we'll all get to know the details and until then we should all respect Tom's privacy about this animal. I know it's difficult because we all want to know what makes what, but in reality if it were you or me or anybody else we'd probably do the same thing until we could determine what the genetics were. Disclaimer: I'm not saying everyone would do this and what each of do is up to each of us.

The End
