I thought it was too yellow to be bicolor. Reference books termed the guatemalan palm viper as bicolor and termed the yellow-blotched palm viper as aurifer, however they both range in Guatemala. I almost had one of those last year from Europe for a male B. bilineata.

Who knows about the accuracy of common names. I do know it's aurifer for this specimen.

These two species are really tough to come by...

Yea, common names are somewhat problematic although I have seen some pics of adult blueish bicolors that did knock my socks off and made me think about selling my other car to get some. And the Daytona show is something I would not miss even if another hurricane hit the same day. Its just up the road from me about 3.5 hours. Organizers said that he is working hard at getting more vendors to participate, so I hope its a better showing this year for venomous vendors at least. Send me an email when you get some time.
