A few recent finds..

Nathan Wells Jun 26, 2005 12:30 AM

Although I have been super busy catching up on work and unable to sit down and write up a full report, I was fortunate enough to make two quick trips out west over Memorial Day weekend and June 7th through the 14th. If I can break away from the grip of my soon-to-be wife and the wedding planning, I will be sure to sit down and give you all a detailed write up.
In the meantime, here is a picture of a nice male light blairs that a friend and I found on 5/28/05 while cruising Juno Road just as the sun set. He was found laying in the middle of the road as we rounded the s-curves 3 miles south of Baker's. Funny thing was, he didn't mind the fact that it was raining pretty hard at the time.

Here was the most interesting find of the June 7th-14th outing. We found this nice orange colored suboc coiled up in the road 25 miles south of Alpine on 6/11 right at sundown. He was a really nice looking animal but what really caught my eye was the odd brindle colored tail he had and the small pure white spots that stood out. Piebald? possibly?
Unfortunately, he had taken a hit from a car and died about 20 hours later. I did keep him, however, and he will soon become a member of the TCWC in College Station.
Any thoughts?
