first time dealing with mites little help?

my new burm looks like it has mites well it has mites but people have told me their are wood mites which are harmless and then i guess blood mites which use the snake as a host. now what im wondering is how i can tell if it is a wood mite or a blood mite (not sure what to call it) can someone give my some ideas..
sorry for the annoying question im sure you guys are sick of hearing it
