...Hiya Robert, no color is pretty variable in most wild pops...tho the nicest pinks seem to come from SW Utah & yellow which Ive only seen once, but have heard of others...tend to come from N Gila County [no kiddn we have such a place...!]...the pattern is fairly consistent tho & I (& a handful of others Im sure) can tell where most monsters originate generally by the pattern & quantity of black beads.
Down in Mehico...Ive heard from a coupla vaqueros of an all black geeler in the Pinacate Mtns of NW Sonora & despite a # of trips into that desolate tierra incognita...I havent fd the elusive lava monitor ....yet 
Thanks it just seemed like the pinks came from one area and the salmons another that crossed territories of the pinks and etc... To find the black one would be incredible to say the least. There are some breeders getting close to all black.
