Hey, That was probably me at the taylor michigan show on saturday. In all we walked out of the show with 6 beardies. No i didnt get all of them from the same person. So inbreeding will not be a problem with my little guys. I got 3 males and 3 females. I will house thm in 62qt rubbermaids. 2 to a cage!!!!

you are going to need more enclosures as they grow (not sure how old they are) you cant house the males with females as the males will breed the females far too early. A good breeding age is debatable but im going to say a year and eight months is a safe point for your females and the males as well, perhaps a little earlier for the males. Your females need the time to grow and use the calcium for their own development, the males need the time to properly develop muscles used in breeding, this way you are getting a better chance at healthy breeders. You can keep more then one female to an enclosure providing they get along and the enclosure is large enough, the males will need to be housed individually.....know im not nathan but i thought i would reply anyhow......

Well congradulations on the new additions. But Reiko is right as far as the housing goes. I would seperate the males from the females. You can keep the females together but may want to raise the males on their own. the breeding age is very debateable. Some say 12 months others say 18. Some even say they breed at 8 months. i wouldnt go less then 12 though. Breeding them too young resluts in shorter life spans, smaller eggs and smaller clutches. Did you get any from the guy in the corner? He had three tubs full i think and some bigger breeders and sub adults for sale. If you ever have any questions post them on the forum or you can email me. cyclosternum@hotmail.com

peace,
nathan

p.s.what city do you live in?

Hey Reiko thanks for the post anyway. Nate I live in Holland. Right now i dont think that i have to seperate the males and the females yet. i had planned on seperating the males and females when they were 6 months old. right now the oldest 1s are 2 months.

a male may be ready to breed a female by then, 3 months max, before if possible.
