new tiger, yayness

Hiya, I just purchased a tiger retic from a local dealer. We had an expo here today and I couldn't resist. I had a normal retic I purchased from Bob Clark about 4 years ago and had to sell it due to small living quarters I moved into. Now that I have plenty of room I had to have another one. That snake was the single most awesome snake I've kept over the last decade. So anyways. I have a problem. My retic hatched only 4 days ago and hasn't had it's first shed or meal. I'm just worried about the habitat. It was sort of an impulse buy so I don't have the right setup yet. As of right now She's going in a ten gallon with an under tank heater and a clamp light for basking or what not. Next week I'm going to build a nice front sliding enclosure until then does anyone have any suggestiong on the enclosure arrangment? I fi9gured a little hide box placed half way over the heat pad so it can hide and still choose to be warmer or cooler. What are the temperature requirements like? I haven't kept any snakes for a while... ;[

I'm going to take some picture in a few minutes...I'll reply with some images of my new baby.

Here she is, my first tiger retic..i'm excited...kinda like when you get a new used car...hey...it's new to me! Maybe there are albinos and ect now and tigers aren't the next big thing.. but i love tigers ;p

I'll post some more after her first shed ;D

While I'm at it here's a grey snake I found in my backyard last week.

your going to want to keep that new retic on some moist substrate until after that first shed most baby retics arent hard to get feeding the first time but you do have some that are an exception to the rule so best of luck my only advice to you would be since you havent kept snakes in awhile is that next time you buy a snake on impulse try to get one that is already established instead of a 4 day old that hasnt begun to eat it will make things alot easier on you

Ah, I'm sure I wont have a problem...Thanks for the advice on the moist substrate. I have been misting her and she has plenty of water to aid in the ease of shedding. I have a couple live mice to start her off with then ill switch her over to frozen prekilled..
