Complete reverse striped hypo Panamanian boas full body and close-ups

ghireptiles Jun 26, 2005 05:01 PM

I was goofing around this afternoon and took a few macro shots of a couple of the hypos. Here is a full body shot of one of the males...

Here are some close up shots of a couple different reverse stripe hypo animals!

Now from my understanding the original Salmon was believed to be a hypo Panamanian. So if these hypos are bred together should I get reverse striped supers? Kind of curious....

Yep, hypos are said to originate from Panama.

See this article by Jeff Ronne for more information on that:

Regarding whether or not you will get more reverse stripers: Not sure. That would depend on the genetics of the reverse stripe in the parent(s). Could get none.. could get a bunch. You should defenitly get some supers though (Statisticly 25% if bred to another codominant hypo).

Thanks for the info!!!

The flash is a canon MR14EX (Macro Ring). It's really convenient when shooting close and especially very close. Here it is

If the hypo gene is working in them like the one we all know and love, then yes, you should get supers from breeding a pair of those together( being wc maybe they are already super, who knows).

The inversed stripe will surely prove to be genetic, I think, but yet will still have to be proven. Do you plan to keep those kids pure? They are surely lovely as they are, and an awesome project to get into! Thanks for sharing them.

Hey Jesse,

There were 7 (2.5) reverse stripe/inverse stripe hypos in the shipment so the only thing I can think is dominant. I am absolutely keeping them pure. I think that 100% pure 'dwarf' salmons would be pretty killer. Dwarf reverse striped supersalmons might not be that bad either lol!
