hate to bother u guys but...

i always find myself in your forum from time to time to check out PICS and what not and for the past 4 months ive been thinking of picking up my first hot snake i have had many non-venomous snakes blood pythons savus and Burmese and i have handled venomous snakes in the wild mainly copperheads and once a western diamondback but now that im looking to bring one into my home im looking for a good starter a lot of people told me copperheads but i fig i would ask you guys ... any opinion would be appreciated

A copperhead is generally considered a good starter primarily because its venom is on the mild side. Less chance for a life-threatening bite. Understand the operative word is less..not zero.

I would strongly recommend that you make sure you have access to the appropriate antivenin before you get the animal. There are a few ways of doing so. If the snake is native to the area you reside in, see if the local hospital carries antivenin. If it is available to you, join an anti-venom bank. If neither of these are workable, you really ought to buy your own antivenin.
You will also want to keep the proper tools handy..hooks, forceps, tongs, etc. and make sure..absolutely certain, actually, that your cage(s) are snake-proof & securely locked.
