Chad Gray here I believe I am the only person in the state of Ky that has any of these gems.
I am hopefully going to breed these guys in the fall of 2006.
My male can breed now but the female needs a little more weight. I may try the male this fall with a high blue, just to see what happens.
Any way I havent been on here in a while and wanted to share the good news and see what else is happening with peoples projects.

Getting to be quite a few Kafiau Island GTPs around. Your photo didn't make it. Here's one of my boys. Had a front move through this afternoon so I started cycling a few of mine tonight, I'll see how it goes. Randy

Howdy,
Just got one myself (arrived on saturday). Man, she is beautiful. I hope she stays yellow, but if not, I'll still breed her and keep the offspring for a while to see what is happening with color. I always wanted a GTP and said I would get one 'someday' but when I saw the Canaries, I said to myself that the 'someday' had just arrived.
Does anyone know what serious breeders are working with these animals? I've been to www.yellowchondro.com and I know ecotthermics has a project (calling it dayglo). I'm hoping to acquire some of the first generation captive born.
I think even if virtually none of the animals stay yellow, there will still be a high demand for reputable, locale based animals that stay high yellow for 2-4 years. any thoughts?

I have 7 of them and I know of a few others that have them and plan on breeding. There was one guy on the Chondro web who has a number of them but haven't seen him around in a while. I guess we'll see who all has them in a year or two when babies start popping up. Randy

I know of a few guys that have some. Some are just for sale some are for the hope of breeding.
The ones I have are for breeding, I am going to try my male out this fall, and see how he does. My female is still a bit small and will not be ready this season. But as far as canary x canary I will be hopefully doing that next year.
I know Rico that owns signal herp fairly well and he has a few of these guys. I know Kamueron that owns Bushmaster has a few, Harlin Wall of wall to wall, Underground Reptiles, Mike Powell of Quality First has some. I know Ben Siegel did have some. Tom Crutcfield has a pair on ks for 13,750.
But to my knowledge the first person that will get captives from canary x canary will most likley be Mark Leshock.
I know he has some of these guys for a while, he bought some of the first ones in the country.
I am going to try my male this year with a 80% high blue and see what happens at least my male will be proven if all goes well and someone will be able to have a success story.
I do look for alot of the people who have them to breed their male or males this season though.
Hopefully next year Breeders myself included will get some of these pairs to breed together.
I hope mine stay yellow as well, but only time will tell.
Enough blabbin, good luck with all your projects, gtps ecspecially.
