At work (Petco-not something to brag about) while I was feeding out crickets I saw two mature male green anoles in a threat display. The males were side by side with their heads turned to the others mid-body. They had a rather large creast coming from the back of the head down to the neck and another coming from the front of the back down to the tail. The area around the eye down to the ear was black. The green color was brighter almost yellow-green, and they had brown squiggles all over their sides. With an open mouth and flared throat fans they locked jaws.
I took the time to watch, along with some customers who wouldnt belive me when I told them they were green anoles "these to are to gorgeous" they say. This was the first time I saw such a display. All my male anoles were segregated exept for those rare breedings. I got permition to keep all but one male anole in the nursury separated untill the one sells. Most of the time they say no, even if its for the animals well-being, but if I have to I do thing "under the table".
Anolis carolinensis is so under-rated. They're awesome!
