antivenin bank ?'s

goini04 Jun 27, 2005 08:57 AM

Hi all,

I realize that anti-venom banks are definitely a GREAT step in the right direction, especially if we would like to build credibility with our state lawmakers. I just have to ask, how effective could these antivenin banks really be? How fast can the anti-venin be delivered in order to save someones life? Anti-venin banks are very few and far between, so getting the antivenin to the person in a short period of time in order to save their life seems to be a bit hard.

Does anyone have any idea's as to the reliability of antivenin banks?

Thanks,

Chris

The program the Miami-Dade Fire Dept. runs obviously works quite well. The idea is to get as many regional AV banks up and running as possible. Ideally, that way anyone around the country would have quick, reliable access to life-saving medicine.

Rather than writing this suff all over again..just read the text on the website. They work very well, when properly structured.
