GENETICS QUESTIONS FOR BREEDER OUT THERE

gregd Jul 14, 2003 06:15 PM

I purchased a male Salmon Hypo bearded dragon from Dragons Den at the SD Show yesterday. When he's an adult, I plan on breeding this male with my Red X Normal female. My question is, as far as genetic theory goes, how will the babies turn out? Will the offspring show some Salmon Hypo passed on from the male or will all the offspring most likely take after my Red X Normal female? I am dying to know and I would appreciate your expertise. Thank you in advance.

Well As Far As genetics..... I Know that you can breed orange and orange and it will produce some red. As far as who's genes will be dominant and not.....that is really up to mother nature. you can have some that will be red and then some that will be a mixture of both and then some that will turn out to be the hypo.
