We are feeding our baby spur thighs greens and they love it but we woudl like to have a mixture of foods. What would be a good food to mix with greens?

I'd avoid Mazuri b/c of protein content. I understand that it was originally developed for tort species that required a higher content than Sulcatas. I would strongly suggest that you review the half-dozen or so sites that address overall sulcatta care including quite specific dietary requirements. While there is certainly room for debate about proportion of greens to grass, most agree minimal if any fruit and there are certain plants that clearly impact calcium uptake or are outright poisonous. I'd point you to Sulcata Station, Tortoise Trust,& Ivory Tortoise. Greens are easy but grass is best. Enjoy the lit review. Hopefully others on this list can specify other internet sites for you.
Not to start this debate again, but how much more protein to Galapagos tortoises really injest? There are lost of people who have raised sulcatas with no problems on Mazuri. At least it was formulated by a PhD nutritionist. Plus it can compose as little as P of their diet.
My 2 cents

You really need to evaluate the advice you get. If someone gives you 'because it is so...' there is something wrong.
I push this stuff because of results over various species. Not all are perfect and that raises another question but if you were to apply statics to the results i've obtained over the short period I've been using it you would have to admit there is something right. Now that raises another question... what is right.
I'm away from my home computer right now but when I get home on the weekend I'll post some fantastic (in my opinion) pictures of animals raised on this stuff.

I am becoming a believer and I have only been feeding for 5 days. My 3toe dosn't care for it. Thats ok she only likes bugs and blue berries. Of course I give her other food items!
Show me a leopard raised on Mazuri and I will become a beleiver!
I have a 6 month leopard that shows very very slight pyramiding (have had him only 3 weeks) and am terrified of making it worse. I feed Mazuri about 2 times a weeks, but I soak it and then mash it up with finely chopped orchard grass so that he has to eat the grass to get the Mazuri - probably 2 parts grass to 1 part Mazuri - He loves it.
PS. Has ANYONE raised a smooth Leopard - has it been done - ALL the photos I have seen are lumpy??????
Go to our website and look at our different tortoises. The only two allowed to graze outside since birth are Monty and Sherman, Fancy, Simon, and Waldo were rescues from indoor environments fed only produce. Lenny and Shelly were allowed to graze and fed a commercial food. We also give them hibiscus and spineless prickly pear cactus pads.
