Trivia for you smart snake people

Bhelliom Jun 27, 2005 12:23 PM

What do you call a bunch of snakes in a group?

IE a group of whales is a pod. a group of birds is a flock, so a group of snakes is a ?

PS i have no idea what the answer is... I'm genuinely curious

I don't know if there is a technical term for a group of snakes, since they don't travel together like a pod or flock, but are found sometimes in large groups for breeding or over wintering, so I would call it a "gathering" of snakes.

In western movies, they call a gathering of snakes a gang. For example, the Dalton Gang or the Hole in the Wall Gang.

Hey! No picking on our scaly little buddies! LOL
Hmmm... I'm sure this isn't right, but a "slither" of snakes sure sounds good.

I would agree there is never really such a grouping of snakes except during brumation... you never see them moving in large groups.

First to the office of wildlife with a name gets it!
