Incubating Eggs

cobbweb Jun 27, 2005 03:01 PM

I recently got my first clutch of eggs and I am worried about the eggs drying up. They are at room tempeture in 4-5 inch deep deli cup of perlite. I used the neighbors scale to get the eggs started but it was in ounces and not very accurate. They are 17 days old and they are still white and firm. I sprinkle about a tablespoon of water into the container every 3 or 4 days. I am worried because the perlite feels dry but it seems like I am puting to much water in. Do dried up eggs look a certain way, how can I tell if they are no good.
