Keeping my dragon in the yard?

xcrashx21 Jun 27, 2005 04:01 PM

I've brought my dragon out several times to bask in the sun with me and explore the yard but Sat. he either got scared or just decided to run and bolted. My dragon is always very active but now I'm nervous to take him outside because I'm scared I could loose him. I could hold him but I want him to be able to explore. Are the lizard leashes a good idea? Any suggestions? Thank you. MB

Are you talking about a back yard or front yard. Is the yard fenched?

The backyard. It is fenced in but I'm worried he could climb because I have alot of trees too. Also if he were to go under the deck he would be difficult to find. I'm trying to find away to keep him safe.

I see....a deck would be a problem. I know my Skit bolted the other day in a row of bushes, and well, he blended in very well. If you are very worried, I'd say get a leash. Better safe than sorry...

Or, if you have time and money, which I don't...you can build an outdoor exploratory for him.....with screens of course to keep the cats and birds out and to keep him in. M ind you not a habitat to live in...just to um,,,,play!

at the local chain pet store for $4.00. It is by 4-paws (I think). Darwin is still a bit too young but I have every intention of him getting used to it if he wants to go outside - a small investment for safety. - hope this helps!
