Whites frog died... any ideas?

Misskiwi67 Jun 27, 2005 06:01 PM

Hey all,

I have a fairly elaborate setup thats difficult to clean, so it'd been a while since I'd given it a proper cleaning, but yesterday I went and removed all the rocks from the bottom, rinsed everything out and got everything looking nice again. I didn't use anything but tapwater to clean it.

Today I got home from work and my 1 year old whites is blown up like a balloon and lying on his back on the bottom of the cage.

Does anyone have any ideas what happened? I really liked the little guy, and would like to get another, but not until I find out what happened. If I need to redo the cage, I will. Thanks in advance for any help.

Do you know anything about the chorinelevel in your tapwater?
It seems as if the frog has gotten bloat.
An article about bloat:
